GCRA Releases 10 Year Reinvestment Plan and Fiscal Year 2019 Annual Report

The City of Gainesville’s Community Reinvestment Area Department released its 10 Year Reinvestment Plan and Fiscal Year 2019 Annual Report today.

The GCRA is the former Gainesville Community Redevelopment Agency, a statutory agency that transitioned into a city department on October 1, 2019. The Reinvestment Plan is the result of six months of community engagement, surveys, and meetings to consolidate the four former redevelopment plans into a single plan for the newly combined reinvestment area.

The final step in the transition is the presentation of the Reinvestment Plan to the Alachua County Commission. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the city and county commissions agreed to allow the plan to be delivered electronically rather than presented in person. The two commissions will meet sometime in the future when the current situation has passed.

The 10 Year Reinvestment Plan and Fiscal Year 2019 Annual Report can be viewed or downloaded here. The Annual Report will be available in print when regular business hours resume at the GCRA office and City Hall.
