Depot Park, the Historic Depot Building, and the Share the Road Bike Memorial recognized by the City Beautification Board

Each year the Gainesville City Beautification Board recognizes places that contribute to the enhancement of the community. Projects are evaluated for originality, innovation, and creativity, as well as for their sustainability, maintenance and use of serviceable materials. This year, Depot Park and the Share the Road Bicycle Memorial won the Outstanding Environmental Award. The Historic Depot Building’s rehabilitation and adaptive reuse won an award for Excellence in Design.

The City Beautification Board is a volunteer organization that was established in 1960. The purpose of the City Beautification Board is to improve the livability of Gainesville and its surrounding areas. The 2017 Annual Beautification Awards Ceremony was held on April 26th at the Thomas Center.
